Who Are We?

Saint-Gobain Abrasive Grains

Saint-Gobain Abrasive Grains, part of Saint Gobain Ceramics - Specialty Grains & Powders (SGP), engineers and makes high performance fused and sintered ceramic grains that enable high performance across a wide range of abrasive, blasting, anti-wear, polishing, and anti-friction applications. We engineer the chemistry and microstructure, control particle size distributions, and offer surface treatments which are supported by certified quality systems, lot level traceability (COA/SDS), and responsive technical support.

Our grains can be found within coated abrasives (belts, discs, sheets) for metal fabrication, woodworking, and composites; bonded abrasives (wheels, segments) for automotive, aerospace, foundry, and general engineering; blasting and surface preparation; lapping and polishing for metals, ceramics, and glass/electronics; as an anti-wear additive in metal matrix castings; and as friction materials such as in brake pads. Customers choose Saint-Gobain Abrasive Grains for high performance, repeatable lot to lot consistency, application aligned grades, lab backed trials, and reliable multi-site supply.

Our Value Pillars: Building a Sustainable Future

Within Saint-Gobain Ceramics, Abrasive Grains carries a clear responsibility: to match high performance with long-term sustainability. Our CSR approach is aligned with the Group’s ambition to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, but our commitment runs deeper. We focus on transforming challenges into opportunities — whether that means cutting emissions, embedding circularity in our products, or building trustful partnerships across the supply chain. This journey is ambitious, but it has already begun, and it guides every decision we make. Together with our customers and colleagues, we are shaping a more sustainable industry.
